至今，Melissa Etheridge(玛丽莎伊瑟莉姬)已经卖出了超过两千五百万张唱片，女性摇滚客中佼佼者。

在第47届格莱美奖颁奖典礼上，被诊断出患有乳腺癌的美国著名摇滚女歌星Melissa-Etheridge，因化学治疗而导致的头发脱落，使得Melissa-Etheridge的最新公开演出改变了以往的形象：往日的一头秀发不见了，她是以光头的形象出现在现场和电视转播下的无数观众面前！顽强战胜癌症、勇敢面对生活的Melissa-Etheridge，在格莱美奖颁奖典礼的现场演唱赢得了全体观众起立鼓掌。

Melissa-Etheridge获得了第47届格莱美奖的最佳个人摇滚演唱的提名（这项大奖最终由另一位著名歌手Bruce-Springsteen获得）。在颁奖典礼上，Melissa-Etheridge演唱了获得格莱美终生成就奖的Janis-Joplin的歌“Piece of My Heart”。
